Heart and Vascular Statistics

41%

of all deaths in the U.S. can be attributed to heart disease.

1000

heart attack patients are seen across Dartmouth Health each year—among the highest in New England.

53

minutes for Dartmouth Health cardiovascular teams to open up a blocked artery—nearly twice as fast as the national average.

“One of the things that our patients value most is our team approach to care and ability to bring that back to the patient bedside. [It] reassures patients, encourages shared decision-making between patients and their care team, and ultimately leads to an optimized patient experience with improved outcomes—particularly for patients with serious cardiac conditions."
